Math 50A Calculus I: Differential Calculus (E8031), College of the Redwoods Fall 2015

Materials you will need:
[1] REQUIRED TEXTBOOK:
Calculus: Early Transcendentals, by James Stewart, 5th edition
You can CHECK OUT a copy from the CR Library for the whole term (LIBRARY, not bookstore). http://www.redwoods.edu/eureka/library/ You need only check it out once (you do NOT have to renew it every 2 weeks or anything like that). The book will be due to be returned at the end of the term. If you choose to purchase your own copy, you can find copies online very inexpensively (certainly under $20, including shipping) because it is an older edition. Make sure you get the correct edition and version because there are many that look almost exactly the same. Note that if you order one, you can still check one out of the library until you have your copy in hand then return the library book at that time.
[3] Bound Notebook with Grid Paper (something like this):
Please make sure to get one that is bound (not just loose paper), and please make sure it has graph paper in it. The CR bookstore generally carries these for about $2; other places sell them too. [4] Internet Access: You will also be expected to have regular access to your CR email account and to the internet, particularly for access to "Canvas" at CR: https://redwoods.instructure.com/login
