[3]  REQUIRED:  Bound Notebook with Grid Paper (something like this):

Please make sure to get one that is bound (not just loose paper), and please make sure it has graph paper in it.
Pacific Paper and Arcata Stationers have ones made with recycled paper for about $3.
The CR bookstore generally carries these for about $3-4; other places sell them too.
Staples has similar ones on sale for $1 in August (not sure when that ends).

[4]  REQUIRED:  Internet Access:
You will also be expected to have regular internet access for:
  • your CR student email account (information: http://archive.redwoods.edu/mail.asp)
  • access to "Canvas" at CR:  https://redwoods.instructure.com/login
    • Canvas help at http://www.redwoods.edu/online/Canvas
  • and other websites for assignments and research
[5]  You will also need:
  • Loose paper (for homework)
  • Pencils
  • Erasers
[6]  Strongly Recommended:
  • Register for Math 380L Math Lab -- so that you can get drop-in help throughout the semester
    • MATH-380L-E0356 (040356) Math Lab for Elem Algebra -- This is 0.5 units.  22.5 hours of Math Lab attendance required to "Pass" (about 1.5 hours per week, on average).  If you accrue more hours, you can ask to be moved to the 1.0 unit section.  Or you can just sign up for the 1-unit section to begin with.
    • MATH-380L-E0357 (040357) Math Lab for Elem Algebra -- This is 1.0 unit.  45 hours of Math Lab attendance required to "Pass" (about 3 hours per week, on average).  If you are concerned about the amount of hours, sign up for the 0.5 unit section and you can switch up to the 1.0 section later, if you want (but not vice versa).
Here is Math Lab information from last year (this year's schedule is not yet final, but the procedures will be the same.)
[7]  Suggested Textbook:
  • Statistical Reasoning in Sports, by Josh Tabor & Chris Franklin
  • Table of Contents
  • Student Companion Site
